Words Do Matter

I have had the chance to speak to some pretty varied groups lately. The Ladies Lunch Group from the local Episcopal Church … an awards night for Sacred Heart University … the kick off lunch for the upcoming Kentucky Derby. Yesterday, the day began with a breakfast with the International Television and Radio Society here in New York City. I used to use a script and try to follow it when I give speeches. Nowadays, I have ditched the speech – preferring to speak from the heart. What a difference. At least, that’s what folks have emailed me to say. Wanna read my mail? Read on …

Deborah,
Thought you should know that the praise continues to pour in regarding your talk. People have stopped me on the street to say how much they appreciated it and took from your words. You should be proud. Thanks again.

I just wanted to thank you for a fabulous luncheon at St. James' last week. You were a fantastic speaker and so inspirational - I was completely moved. I cannot tell you how many great comments I got from the friends I invited to the lunch - they were all in awe. We all left the lunch feeling so positive and good. – Romi

Ms. Norville, I attended the "They're Off" luncheon in Louisville, Ky and heard you speak. I was impressed, moved, touched, and humbled by your words. Even though I've been a widow for the past 7 years, I still have a lot to be grateful for. I tend to lose sight of that at times. Thank you for making me think and challenging me to redeem the time. I'm 51 years old and that's too young to be a grumpy old lady! Thank you for your support of the Delta Queen!

I was priviledged enough to hear you speak at the They're off luncheon and it was truly inspiring to hear your story, Colonel Norvillle. Thank you

Hi Deborah,
I just finished hearing you speak at the Derby Festival Luncheon here in Louisville. It was such a great experience and your stories were wonderful and inspiring! Hearing about Thank You Power was eye opening and I cannot wait to read the book! Have a great day!
