A Visit with Dr. Oz
I wish every day could start the way this day did. I dashed across town to the studios of XM Satellite ratio for a most wonderful visit with Dr. Mehmet Oz, his co-author of his best selling books, Dr. Mike Roizen and Mehmet's charmingly brilliant wife, Lisa. That small little studio was so incredibly inviting and the conversation so uplifting ... I can't wait for you to be able to tune in to hear it. I'll post the air date as soon as I know ... keep checking www.thankyoupower.net/calendar to see when it can be heard. WHY was it so good? Read on ...
It's weird when you are being interviewed by someone you know outside of work. My husband and I have had the pleasure of knowing the Ozes for a few years and have enjoyed some fun times together. Spend a few minutes with them as a couple, and you realize just how connected they are AS a couple ... and how profound the spiritual side of their lives is. You just feel good being in their presence. (You probably feel good being in the presence of Mike Roizen too -- after all, he's the head of the Wellness Institute at the Cleveland Clinic -- but he was on the show from Cleveland.<
The subject was supposed to be Thank You Power .. the book ... but we also talked about the way attitude has gotten all of us through the tough times, the good times and how small rituals can be so valuable in coping with the day to day. Funny -- Dr. Oz said he relishes the daily view over the Hudson River as he makes his early morning commute into Manhattan. I said, as simple as it is, my first cup of coffee is an important part to my getting the day off to a good start. It's not the caffeine -- it's the quiet. Dr. Mike also savors his coffee -- and appreciates each day the assistant who has the coffee machine prepped and ready so all he has to do is flip a switch.
What SMALL thing makes your day go well? The old saying goes ..."Don't sweat the small stuff." I agree don't sweat it. Appreciate it!
